The Teach Team is currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a specialist educational setting. This rewarding role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who may display challenging behaviours, have experienced barriers to learning, or require additional emotional support. Your ability to build positive relationships, maintain clear boundaries, and implement effective behaviour management strategies will be essential in helping pupils achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
• Use proactive behaviour management techniques to promote positive outcomes.
• Support students in developing emotional regulation, resilience, and social skills.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities.
• Manage challenging situations calmly and professionally, using de-escalation strategies where appropriate.
• Foster a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND, behavioural, or additional learning needs.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• The ability to remain calm, patient, and resilient under pressure.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners and helping them succeed.
